Photographers Block

Seeing as I am reaching the tail end of my photographers block and I am sure everyone here has probably experienced one at some point or another, I thought maybe we could assist each other. :]

What do you do when you get a photographers block?
Do you have any method in which you attempt to stir up inspiration?

  1. I just complain about it and post up older pictures that I like. xD

  5. I look through my favs on flickr. Try and redo them or get inspiration from them and then tag them in it so they get the idea credit.

  6. hahaha. Tori, I basically do the same thing haha. I am kind of stubborn, so instead of trying to take photos when I have a photographers block, I just complain and bitch that I "have no ideas and no talent and blah blah blaaaah". and then my boyfriend gets frustrated with me for being all down on myself haha.

Sooo I am trying to just say fuck it and attempt to take photos anyways. :] Thus the photo I included in the post.

  7. i agree with the above. i usually go through my faves & 'steal' ideas, but i am sure to show where i got my inspiration, to credit the artist, and i try to make it somewhat different. go on a photo walk, somewhere new, and sometimes things jump out. often flickr groups will have contests or challenges, so that's a good way to get involved with a new idea. i belong to an online community (photojojo.com)where we have discussion & topic threads, so i find that one helps alot. or a selfie when all else fails :)

  8. When I'm blocked I like to look through groups or my contacts photostreams on flickr - it's amazing and inspiring to see other people's amazing work. Plus, if their stuff is REALLY good, it might make you feel jealous, and that jealously just might kick your butt into gear!

  9. as Rachel said, looking to others' work is always inspirational. Also, listening to music is a good thing to do. It happens that a song can inspires you, from the lyrics or the rhythm. And then go out, and see what happens.
